Wilfred Ndidi could end his playing chapter at Leicester City this summer and walk through another door to begin his Chelsea episode.

Enzo Maresca’s likely appointment by the courting Chelsea could see some of the Italian’s wards at Leicester City on the move with him to pastures new at Stamford Bridge.

Ndidi, whose Leicester City contract expires in July could be one of the stars joining their Leicester City boss on the ride to from East to West London.

Much of Leicester City’s success this term rested on their Italian manager’s midfield mastery with the Foxes.  This was one of the reasons ‘The Foxes’ were able to capture the Championship title and return to the Premier League.

The Nigeria midfielder was integral to Maresca’s success of leading Leicester City to instant promotion to the Premier League.

The Italian manager transformed Ndidi into a more offensive minded midfielder giving him the confidence and zeal to play further ahead in the midfield.

The Nigerian thrived in the role scoring four goals in 32 games with five assists to drive his team back to the Premier League.

It will be expected that the Super Eagles star will be willing to head to Chelsea with the Italian to rekindle the flame that gave both player and manager instant success at Leicester in their next port of call.

It would be hard to imagine that the Leicester City boss would want to leave behind such a potent mainstay that defined his premier league promotion success at first push in East Midlands.

It should not be lost among football’s faithful that this beautiful game is usually played  on a dense field of endless opportunities and possibilities.

Ndidi, who arrived at the King Power Stadium in 2017 is ripe, even overdue for a move from the King power Stadium at this stage of his career.

The player who was once hard sort for by Manchester United, could now be on his way to Chelsea.
