While it has been rife in the rumor mill that Premier League giants Manchester United are interested in acquiring Serie A prolific scorer Victor Osimhen to Old Trafford, England striker Harry Kane is manager Erik Ten Hag’s main target for summer transfer.

Manchester United have been in the hunt for a striker since ending its association with Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo before the start of last year’s FIFA Men’s World Cup.

However, the £150m prized Napoli star Osimhen, has dominated the discussion as the major forward that is highly regarded by Ten Hag to replace Ronaldo in his forward line next season.

Manchester United do not see Victor Osimhen a primary target before the opening of summer transfer window, reporter Dean Jones has confided to GIVEMESPORT.

The Nigeria striker has been variously identified with a summer transfer from Napoli. Reports in Italy indicated that Manchester United and Chelsea are pushing the hardest in procuring Osimhen’s services, but according to GIVEMESPORT, the transaction could come at the hefty cost of £150m, a prize that United could have to mull over.

The 24-year-old sensation is having a transformational term under the Neapolitan sky and it’s expectedly drawing the attention of major European teams.

With Osimhen playing a major role in Napoli’s win of the Scudetto with a handful of games to yet to be played, the Serie A giants are highly prepped to go for the highest bidder when the bargaining for their star player begins.

Whether United are ready to cough up £150m for a player after past transfer blunders is a matter of opinion, but Osimhen has been clear about taking his skills to the Premier League before now.

He said: “I’m working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League some day, but like I said, it’s a process and I just want to keep up this momentum and continue to do well.”

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth recently informed GIVEMESPORT that Kane was on United’s transfer radar. Jones on the other hand, has indicated that the Nigeria forward is not the main target for United.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “I mean, I have always considered that this is going to be a really difficult one to do. Wherever we are actually looking in terms of landing spots for Osimhen, whether it’s been United or Chelsea or whoever else, no one’s ever, from my conversations anyway, outlined him as the prime target that they’ll do anything to get.

I think that that’s what it would probably take to actually land Osimhen because of the amount of money he’s going to cost in the next transfer window.”
