Manchester United FC of England must pay  £90 million (pounds) to sign Napoli FC of Italy and Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen when the transfer window reopens in June.

 

Osimhen is the Serie A leading scorer with sixteen goals from seventeen games.

 

A report monitored on Manchester United TV says the Red Devils are planning to replace Cristiano Ronaldo with Osimhen and opened talks with the management of Napoli before the end of the last transfer window in January.

 

According to the report, ” Osimhen’s name is on the list of forwards Manchester United manager  Erik Ten Hag wants to sign next summer. Also on the list are Harry Kane (Tottenham FC),  Boja Iglesias (Real Betis),  Mateo Retegui (Boca Juniors FC), and Anti Fati of Barcelona.

 

Sports Joust reliably gathered that of all the strikers mentioned earlier, Erik Ten Hag prefers Osimhen because of his efficiency in front of goal and his consistency since he joined Napoli for a club record fee of €70 million (Euros) from  Lille FC of France in 2020.

 

He won the Serie A  Best Young Player award in the 2021/ 2022 season.

 

Manchester United director of football John Murtough told Manchester united TV: “I was in Naples during the last transfer window in January because of Osimhen, but our negotiation was inconclusive. We have to wait and see what will happen when the window opens in the summer.”

 

Meanwhile, Manchester United will have to contend with Paris Saint-Germain FC of France, who also recently made their intentions of signing the Super Eagles attacker known.

 

Sports Joust reliably gathered that Osimhen’s current market value is between  32.1 million and 53. 6 million euros. Still, Napoli wants to cash in on the player by placing a 120 million Euros (90 million pounds) transfer fee on him because of the caliber of clubs jostling for his signature.
