Manchester United target £63m Frenkie de Jong alternative
Manchester United are reportedly seeking an alternative to priority signing Frenkie de Jong by targeting Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The Red Devils had their sights firmly locked onto Barcelona star De Jong with a £71.5m deal between the clubs said to be agreed.
However, the negotiations have since stalled after it was reported by the Daily Mail that De Jong has no intention of joining the Premier League giants.
Now Italian outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi have reported that the 20-time league winners have identified Milinkovic-Savic, currently valued at £63m by Transfermarkt, as a potential alternative to De Jong.
The 27-year-old Serbian is contracted with Lazio until the summer of 2024 and has expressed his desire to leave Lazio this summer and move to a top European club.
The player’s agent is reportedly working on collecting proposals for the midfielder but isn’t ready to hold a meeting with the Italian side just yet.
Erik ten Hag has already made one midfield signing this summer after acquiring the services of Christian Eriksen on a free transfer.
However, the Manchester club require more talent in the centre of the field after losing midfielders Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Andreas Pereira, Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata.
Whatever happens this summer, it is expected that United will make another midfield signing, whether that’s de Jong or an alternative.
Spurs interested in £55m Serie A defender
Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly interested in signing Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan.
According to the Italian outlet, Il Messaggero Spurs are interested in the 27-year-old Slovakian, which could see another Nerazzurri player reunited with former Inter and current Spurs coach Antonio Conte following the signing of Ivan Perisic.
Milan is said to have no intention of letting the Slovakia international leave the Nerazzurri this summer unless the right offer was made, which is said to be in the region of £55m.
However, Gazzetta Dello Sport has also reported that the north London club aren’t the only one interested.
Ligue1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have been negotiating a deal. However, Inter has since become impatient with the negotiations and could decide to keep their centre-back at the San Siro and offer him a new contract.
Milan Skriniar could head for Spurs
The report also claims Inter’s decision could come down to Gleison Bremer’s future as the club looks to sign the Brazilian as Skriniar’s replacement.
The Serie A club needs to raise funds this summer, putting Spurs in a stronger position should they decide to make a serious offer.
Spurs have already made one centre-back signing this summer after they signed Clement Lenglet on a season-long loan, but that’s not to say they won’t sign another on a permanent basis.
Bayern Munich hold talks with representatives of Spurs star
Bayern Munich have reportedly spoken to the representatives of Spurs striker Harry Kane
That’s according to a recent report from German outlet BILD, who claim the Bavarians have enquired about the possibility of Kane moving to the Allianz Arena next summer.
Although Kane, 28, appears to be settled at Spurs, speculation surrounding his future continues to rumble on.
Currently away on a pre-season tour with Antonio Conte, who is putting his Lilywhites through some gruelling physical exercises, Kane looks certain to start the new 2022-23 campaign wearing navy and white.
However, fans will be wondering how long the prolific England international will stick around, and those concerns will only grow if the Londoners fail to win any kind of major silverware next term.
Speaking recently about the club’s admiration for Spurs’ number 10, Bayern Munich boss Julian Naglesmann, who spoke to Manuel Veth, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, said: “He is very expensive. He is strong with the ball, strong body – but at that price, it is really difficult. We will have to see what happens in the future…”.
The German champions’ pursuit may have been accelerated by the recent departure of striker Robert Lewandowski, who joined Barcelona in a deal worth £40m.
Do you think Kane will ever play in the Bundesliga?
Bayern Munich breaks silence on the possibility of signing Harry Kane
Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann has spoken publicly about the possibility of signing Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Harry Kane.
This isn’t the first time that Kane, 28, has seen his future speculated. Last summer saw the England international publicly reaffirm his desire to win major silverware – suggesting a shock move to a Premier League rival may be on the cards.
“I want to be playing in the biggest games, the biggest moments,” Kane told Gary Neville on Sky Sports’ ‘The Overlap’.
“I hope that we can have that conversation. I’m sure that [Daniel Levy, Tottenham Chairman] will want to set out the plan of where he sees it but ultimately it’s going to be down to me and how I feel and what’s going to be the best for me and my career this moment in time.”
Harry Kane has been linked with a move to Bayern MunichHarry Kane is in action for Tottenham Hotspur
As it happened, a move 12 months ago failed to materialize, leaving the 28-year-old with no choice but to carry on in London.
However, although currently away on a pre-season tour and being put through his paces by manager Antonio Conte, Kane has once again come under the spotlight.
Following Robert Lewandowski’s recent transfer to Barcelona, Naglesmann’s Bavarians are in need of a new centre forward and one name they appear to have on their shortlist is Tottenham Hotspur’s prolific number 10.
Speaking about whether or not they could make a move for the Lilywhites’ star man, Naglesmann, who spoke to Manuel Veth, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, said: “He is very expensive. He is strong with the ball, strong body – but at that price, it is really difficult. We will have to see what happens in the future…”.
Antonio Conte is interested in signing a versatile 20-year-old attacker
Antonio Conte has reportedly asked Tottenham Hotspur director Fabio Paratici to try and sign talented youngster Nicola Zalewski from Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma.
According to the Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, Conte is eyeing up young Poland international Zalewski, who came up through Roma’s youth academy before finding success under Mourinho.
The report states that PSG has also made recent inquiries regarding the 20-year-old, who is under contract with Roma until 2025, with several loan requests also having been made in January by Sampdoria and Cagliari, among others.
However, Mourinho has so far blocked all and any attempts to pluck his star asset away from his Italian side, with the versatile player becoming irreplaceable.

Throughout the past season, the 20-year-old has become a key player switching from attacking midfield to left wing by Mourinho and knocking veteran player Leonardo Spinazzola from the first-choice position.
Zalewski joined Roma’s youth academy in 2018 and was promoted to the senior squad last summer. Since then, the Pole has made 25 senior appearances, directly contributing to three goals and is currently valued at £11m by Transfermarkt.
