The road to Rebellion rages on from the famous 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, and an all-new TNA iMPACT! is on the air

The Personal Concierge reveals that Ash By Elegance cannot compete in tonight’s 8-4-1 match due to some cosmetic touchups that she received recently. Director of Authority Santino Marella has found a replacement, the returning Steph De Lander!

 

 

Jody Threat, Havok, Masha Slamovich & Alisha Edwards vs. Dani Luna, Rosemary, Xia Brookside & Steph De Lander – 8-4-1 Match to Determine the #1 Contender for the Knockouts World Championship

 

The 8-4-1 match begins as an 8-Knockout tag team match, with the winning team immediately facing off in a 4-way match. The winner will become the #1 Contender for the Knockouts World Championship, held by Jordynne Grace! Threat hits Brookside with running double knees. Brookside takes Slamovich down with head scissors. The match begins to break down as everyone gets involved. Luna hits an assisted Blue Thunder Bomb on Luna. Slamovich counters the Luna landing, but Luna rolls her up to score the pinfall victory.

 

Dani Luna, Rosemary, Xia Brookside & Steph De Lander def. Jody Threat, Havok, Masha Slamovich & Alisha Edwards – 8-4-1 Match to Determine the #1 Contender for the Knockouts World Championship

Dani Luna vs. Rosemary vs. Xia Brookside vs. Steph De Lander – 8-4-1 Match to Determine the #1 Contender for the Knockouts World Championship

 

Before the 4-way match, a furious Masha Slamovich attacks Dani Luna and tosses her into the steel ring post. De Lander redirects Rosemary’s spear into Brookside, causing Brookside to collide with Ash By Elegance, who is watching the match from the ringside. Ash sends Brookside into the steel ring post, but the referee ejects her. Out of nowhere, Matt Cardona appears in the ring and takes out Rosemary with Radio Silence. De Lander capitalizes, putting Rosemary away with the TKO.

 

 

The dissention within Time Machine continues. Alex Shelley accuses Chris Sabin of looking out for himself in his singles match against Steve Maclin tonight. Shelley thinks that maybe he should do the same.

 

 

After Chris Bey failed to become the #1 Contender for the X-Division Championship last week, Ace Austin tells him that they should focus on reclaiming the TNA World Tag Team Titles instead. Bey vows to care for Frankie Kazarian, which Austin could not do alone.

 

 

The Grizzled Young Vets blame Cody Deaner for their loss to the Time Splitters last week. Deaner goes to the ring and reveals that Director of Authority Santino Marella has granted him a match against one of them. Deaner lets the fans decide—and they want both! Deaner clotheslines James Drake over the top rope before being blindsided by Gibson.

 

 

Grizzled Young Vets (Zack Gibson & James Drake) vs. Cody Deaner

The Grizzled Young Vets double-team Deaner is in the corner. Deaner fights back with a series of strikes to Gibson. Deaner hits a bulldog out of the corner, but Gibson counters the follow-up Deaner DDT. Drake chokes Deaner with his scarf, allowing them to capitalize with Grit Your Teeth. Drake pins Deaner to win.

Alex Shelley interrupts Nic Nemeth’s interview with Gia Miller. Shelley tells him not to fall for The System’s mind games as he gears up to challenge Moose for the TNA World Title at Rebellion. Nemeth says that after he defeats Moose at Rebellion, he would be honored to give Shelley the first match. Shelley doesn’t want to wait, but Nemeth accepts his challenge.

 

 

 

Josh Alexander is in the ring, but the commentary team notes that he’s dressed to compete. Alexander says he missed being in Philadelphia because the 2300 Arena is where the most personal scores are settled. Alexander reveals that Director of Authority Santino Marella has granted him an open contract for a match tonight. Speaking of that, Alexander calls out Hammerstone to settle their differences after Hammerstone cheated to defeat him at Sacrifice. Instead, he’s confronted by “Hot Sauce” Tracy Williams, who calls himself one of the best wrestlers in the world. Alexander isn’t one to back down from a challenge, and since Hammerstone isn’t here, it’s on!

Alexander attempts a vertical suplex, but both men crash over the top rope and onto the floor. Alexander hits his signature running crossbody on the apron. In the ring, Alexander hits a Northern Lights suplex into a bridge for two. Williams fights off a C4 Spike attempt, then dumps him high on his neck with a suplex. Alexander hits a rolling senton out of the corner, followed by a knee strike to the back of Williams’ next. Williams rolls out of the Ankle Lock, but Alexander catches him with a powerbomb backbreaker. Williams hits a unique DDT on the top turnbuckle. Williams locks in an STF submission, but Alexander counters it into a German suplex. Alexander connects with the C4 Spike to win.

After the match, Alexander and Williams raise each other’s hands to show respect when Hammerstone blindsides them. Hammerstone straps Alexander’s headgear to Williams before locking in the Torture Rack.

 

 

X-Division Champion Mustafa Ali is the cover star of the latest edition of Pro Wrestling Illustrated. The digital issue is available now and will also be available on newsstands on April 16th. Go to pwi-online.com for more information.

 

Mustafa Ali tells Director of Authority Santino Marella that he doesn’t believe Jake Something is qualified to be in the X-Division due to his size. Marella says that the whole point of the X-Division is that there are no weight limits. Marella says that even Rhino could be in the X-Division. Ali begins to badmouth Rhino when the “War Machine” walks up behind him. Rhino demands a match with Ali. Ali turns him down because he already has a scheduled X-Division Title defense against Jake Something at Rebellion. Rhino doesn’t want a title match. He wants Old School Rules. Marella makes it official for next week.

 

 

 

TNA World Tag Team Champion Eddie Edwards w/ Brian Myers & Alisha Edwards vs. Mike Bailey w/ Trent Seven

As Speedball Mountain prepares to challenge Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers for the TNA World Tag Team Titles at Rebellion, it’s singles action between Mike Bailey and Eddie Edwards tonight! Bailey is in control following a dive over the top rope, taking out Eddie on the floor. Myers distracts at ringside, allowing Eddie to capitalize with a modified Blue Thunder Bomb on the apron. Bailey counters a Backpack Stunner, then creates separation with a dropkick off the second rope. Bailey hits a running Shooting Star for two. Bailey soars with a springboard moonsault to the outside. Edwards prevents Ultima Weapon, then successfully hits the Backpack Stunner for another near fall. Bailey hits a series of strikes before Edwards turns him inside out with a clothesline. Alisha distracts the referee while Myers grabs Bailey on the apron. Trent Seven neutralizes Myers before Eddie kicks him to the floor. Alisha grabs Bailey’s leg, which gives Eddie time to avoid a second Ultima Weapon attempt. Eddie hits the Boston Knee Party to win.

As Frankie Kazarian looks ahead to his Full Metal Mayhem match against Eric Young at Rebellion, he’s confronted by Chris Bey, who wants a match with the self-proclaimed “King of TNA” next week. Kazarian accepts his challenge. Will it be made official?

 

 

 

Rich Swann and AJ Francis are in the ring to address Swann’s shocking change of heart. Two weeks ago, Swann betrayed Joe Hendry to join forces with Francis. Francis refers to this new duo as First Class and says Swann has seen the light. Swann admits that he has been in a slump as of late. Swann says Francis was there for him and wanted to take him to new heights. Swann explains that Hendry stole a victory from him in a tag team competition and his spotlight. Swann reminds us that he won the TNA World Championship in an empty building during the pandemic, which means he never needed the fans’ support. Francis signs off with the catchphrase, “If you’re not in First Class, you’re last.”

 

 

Tom Hannifan conducts a sit-down interview with Laredo Kid to learn more about his upbringing in professional wrestling and Luchador’s background. After beginning in 2003, Kid competed in Lucha Libre AAA in Mexico. Kid speaks on the traumatizing experience of suffering a perforated intestine, which inspired him to motivate others never to give up. Kid was set to challenge Crazzy Steve for the Digital Media Championship at Sacrifice but could not compete due to travel issues. The kid will have another opportunity to tell Steve he’s coming for his title.

Steve Maclin vs. Chris Sabin

It’s central event time as former TNA World Champions Steve Maclin and Chris Sabin collide! Sabin targets Maclin’s left arm early on. Maclin drops him gut-first over the top rope to gain control. Maclin wears his opponent down as he delivers a back suplex. Sabin bites Maclin on the top rope, then soars with a missile drop kick. Sabin hits a neckbreaker, followed by a DDT for two. Sabin locks in a Crossface, but Maclin rolls to the ropes to break the hold. As Maclin capitalizes with a diving knee, Sabin crashes and burns on a slingshot crossbody. Sabin avoids Caught in the Crosshairs but gets turned inside out with a clothesline. Maclin hits Mayhem For All for another near fall. Both men exchange strikes in the middle of the ring. Nobody is home for the SCUD Missile as Maclin collides with the floor. Maclin barely returns to the ring before the referee’s ten count. Sabin spikes with the Satellite DDT, but it’s not enough. Sabin is Caught in the Crosshairs, but the damage to the left arm prevents Maclin from hitting the follow-up KIA. Maclin fights through a bridge and successfully hits the KIA to win.
