To Return At WrestleMania 39
The New Day has been one of the most popular acts in WWE for a number of years, and a pitch has been made to bring the trio back together, James Holder writes for Inside Ropes.
Big E suffered a potentially career-ending neck injury in March 2022 and has been mostly away from WWE television ever since. In his absence, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have continued to team together on SmackDown.
It has now been reported that there had been an idea for the trio to appear at WrestleMania 39 together if Big E was available. However, the report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, notes that he’s unsure whether the reunion will take place or if it will be changed due to a recent injury suffered by Kingston. The star is set to undergo ankle surgery after falling awkwardly after catching Drew McIntyre as he dived over the top rope on March 3rd.
“I don’t think if anything will come of this or if Kingston’s injury changes this, but we had heard of an idea for E to be at WrestleMania and the three of them would come out together if that would be the right thing to do and if E could come back soon.”
Big E Unsure Of WWE In-Ring Return
Speaking in a recent interview, Big E offered an update on his progress and reiterated that he’ll be having more tests on his neck soon. The results of these tests will determine whether or not he can resume his career. The star explained that even if he can’t wrestle again, he’s at peace with whatever comes next.
