Leon Edwards wants Kamaru Usman trilogy

UFC champion Leon Edwards believes his rival Kamaru Usman “is deserving of the trilogy, Tom Ward reports for GIVEMESPORT.”

The British MMA fighter won the welterweight title from ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ in their rematch earlier this month.
And Edwards says he will happily ‘run it back with Usman at the earliest opportunity.
However this time he wants the fight to take place in the UK.

“I think Usman is deserving of the trilogy,” Edwards said during an appearance on The Jim Rome Show.

“I would love to have it back in the UK. Wembley would be good. The O2 would be good in London.

“I would love to give him the rematch, run it back, and let’s settle the score.

UFC president Dana White insisted afterwards that he will do everything in his power to make sure that Edwards gets the chance to defend his belt in front of his home crowd.

And boss White believes that it will be one of the biggest shows not just in terms of the UK but also in Europe.

“This thing is going to be so huge, not just for the UK but for Europe,” the UFC chief told reporters during a press conference at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

“We would hold it prime time in the UK. We’re looking at every option out there right now. We’re looking at all the venues in England.

“Not just London, we’re looking at every venue in England. We’re looking at everything. There are a lot of curfews and things you gotta deal with in England but we literally worked on that today.

“We put a fight night on at the O2 [Arena] and it sells out in minutes. Imagine what we can do with this thing. It’s gonna be massive over there.

“We weren’t planning on going to England again. Just like last time I left England.”
