Nigeria’s injury trouble continues Felix Agu and Werder Bremen defender the latest to be sidelined by injury.
The Nigeria international sustained a syndesmosis ligament injury in Werder’s 1-0 home win against FC St. Pauli and will be out of the Green-Whites’ squad for months.
Also, the right back will no longer feature for the Super Eagles when they file out for Friday’s crucial World Cup qualifying (WCQ) game against Likuena in Polokwane, South Africa.
According to the Werder’s website, an MRI and X-ray evaluation performed by team doctor Robert Gorzolla on Monday morning confirmed the bad news.
Werder is currently considering several treatment options and will make a decision soon.
“I’m incredibly sorry for Felix. We will do everything we can to get him fit again as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, however, we have to assume that Felix will be out of action for the foreseeable future,” explains head coach Horst Steffen.
