Gift Orban has been picked as a likely successor to iconic striker, Harry Kane following a reported contact by the Lilywhites for a move for the sensational Nigerian forward to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Kane has been a subject of interest for the Bundesliga giants, after Die Bayern made the Tottenham forward a priority signing to fill their vacant central striker role at the Allianz Arena.
The report means Tottenham Hotspur appears to be escalating their pursuit for a forward still with a lot of years to burn to replace their prolific striker, Kane.
Tottenham Hotspurs now joins a growing list of clubs who have been linked to move for the Nigerian after a revise of possible Premier League side’s eyeing a transfer for the Gent wonderkid, likened as heir to countryman, Victor Osimhen of Napoli.
The Belgium based media concern, Het Nieuwsblad, reports that Hotspur appears to have already made contact concerning a likely summer move for the Nigerian forward, stressing that Tottenham Hotspur Stadium have ‘reported’ to the 21-year-old,’s entourage.
According to the report, the likely transfer of Kane to Bayern Munich has forced Tottenham Hotspurs owner Ange Postecoglou and his Stockholders to find his replacement, with Orban now reported to be one of the interesting candidates on the target list.
With four years remaining on his current contract with Gent, should Gift’s transfer to North London go through, the move is expected to shatter the Belgium Pro League side’s record 2020 deal of Jonathan David that was cost Lille the record transfer fee of €27m (£23m) for Gent.
The implication of the impending move to North London for for the fresh Nigerian striker is rather huge, considering that the youngster will be stepping into the shoes of a free-scoring icon in Kane, who already boasts a dizzying total of 213 Premier League goals.
The effort to find a replacement for Kane at Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium appears to be no small task, with Postecoglou likely conditioned to think further than the ordinary to find a right and affordable talent to fill the huge shoes of the England captain.
However, a deeper inspection of Orban’s exploits so far reveals that Hotspur is about to have a rare gem on their hands, one, whose star is certain to shine the brightest in the future.
Though not yet an established figure, progeny Orban has already shown his mettle even in his rudimentary top flight exploits all the same, that has seen him scoring 41 times in only 48 outings in all engagements for Gent as well as his erstwhile employers, Stabaek in the Norwegian professional football setup.
