As reported by CAFonline, the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup makes an exciting comeback this Sunday with a much-anticipated dose of premium African club football action.

With the dust barely settled from the recently concluded and most successful TotalEnergies CAF AFCON, the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup takes center stage with a bumper-to-bumper lineup of fixtures set to thrill on Sunday.

The action kicks off in Polokwane, South Africa, where SuperSport United will be in a must-win clash against Egyptian side Modern Future FC, who are in a relatively comfortable second-place position in Group A.

In a later fixture also set to take place in Polokwane, tournament debutants Sekhukhune FC play hosts to former champions and Moroccan side RS Berkane, who currently lead Group D, with a seven-point margin separating them from the South Africans.

Later that afternoon in Algeria, Abu Salem SC welcomes former champions and Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek FC in what should be a tightly contested Group B affair by the two sides.

In Mali, Stade Melians welcomes Congo’s Diables Noirs, who are looking for their first win of the group stages following their three losses and a draw, which sees them at the bottom of Group D.

Nigerian side Rivers United will fancy a total of points against bottom-placed Academica do Lobito when they travel to Angola. The hosts currently languish at the bottom of the group with zero points but will be playing for pride in front of their supporters.

United are three points behind joint group leaders, Club Africain and Dreams FC are both on 9 points ahead of their tie set to take place on the same day.

Reigning champions, USM Alger, who have not been doing so well on the domestic front, will hope to maintain their impressive form in the group stages. The Algerian powerhouse currently leads Group A with an impressive 10 points.

They travel to Libya to face a desperate Al Hilal Benghazi who will be looking at causing an upset against the champions.
