Former Flying Eagles midfielder Paul Okoku says the technical crew of the national U-20 team must have a blue print for their players if they want to excel at the World Youth soccer championship in Argentina later this month.

Okoku in an exclusive interview with Sports Joust disclosed that the blue print will guide the coaches and the players on how to execute their game plans before and during all their matches in the competition.

“Coach Ladan Bosso should assign roles to his assistants and analyze their reports with them at the end of every training and matches. They should work together in unity for the progress of the team” he said

On the chances of the Flying Eagles qualifying from their group, Okoku said ” every team that qualify for a prestigious tournament like this has equal chances of winning the trophy. Football to me is like cookies. It breaks unconventionally. Every one has equal chance to win the coveted trophy in Argentina ”

The former Abiola Babes FC of Abeokuta player advised that all the players and their coaches should abstain from any bad behavior that may prevent the team from making any meaningful impact in the tournament.

Okoku also stressed that he was happy that coach Ladan Bosso was given the second chance to be in charge of the Flying Eagles adding that we all make mistake in life

The Flying Eagles finished as runners–up in Saudi Arabia in 1989 and in the Netherlands in 2005. They were bronze medalists in USSR in 1985

Nigeria will play in group D with Brazil, Italy and Dominican Republic. The competition kicks off on May 20, 2023 and ends on June 11, 2023.

The home kit pays homage to iconic Liverpool manager Bill Shankly and the kit from his final season in 1973-74

Liverpool have this morning revealed the new Nike home kit for the upcoming 2023/24 season.

The club say the kit pays homage to Bill Shankly and the legendary Reds manager’s final season in charge at Anfield. For the next campaign, the iconic kit from the 1973-74 season, which saw the Scot’s side scoop the FA Cup, has been reimagined.

A change compared to previous years sees the Hillsborough Memorial logo printed on the back of the neck. Following the death of Andrew Stanley Devine, this season’s kit saw the 97-emblem encased by the eternal flames at the nape of the neck on the inside of the shirt for the first time following his death in July 2021.

“The new home shirt is a classic. Given the inspiration behind the design it feels iconic and a nod to the history of this great club.,” said Reds captain Jordan Henderson. “We’re looking forward to wearing it at Anfield for the Villa game.”

The launch of the kit sees a video campaign set in a magical photobooth which will transport the current squad back to the 1970s. Players modelling the kit provide a 70’s look with music from Liverpool musician Pixey and her era-inspired track ‘Free to Live in Colour’.
