Kelechi Iheanacho scores ‘Fastest’ goal

Must read

Kelechi Iheanacho’s 50 seconds goal against Brighton Hove Albion at the Amex stadium is perhaps the fastest goal so far in the EPL this season, Edwin Emeanua reports for Sports Joust.
The Nigeria international forward scored off a Patson Daka pull-back from the left for his bottom of the Premier League side.
Iheanacho’s early goal only enraged the home team and spurred a Brighton fight-back to beat visiting Leicester City in a seven-goal cliffhanger on home turf.
Solly March’s header was redirected into the net in the eighth minute by Leicester defender Luke Thomas.
A faulty pass from James Maddison gifted Moises Caicedo to score off an Enock Mwepu assist as Brighton went ahead 2-1 in the fifteenth minute.
Leicester replied after 32 minutes of a frenetic first half. Youri Tielemans telegraphed a pass over Brighton’s defence from deep inside his own half, Daka repelled Lewis Dunk’s contest for the ball and placed the ball beyond the sprawling reach of Robert Sanchez to make it two all.
Alexis Mac Allister’s sensational 30 yards torpedo sailed unimpeded into Leicester’s net but, after more than four minutes of video assistant referee check, the spectacular Seagull goal was ruled out for offside.
However, Leandro Trossard would not be denied, scoring Brighton’s third off a Pascal Gross’ feed, and Trossard then earned a penalty from a clumsy Wilfred Ndidi challenge, which Mac Allister scored for the Seagulls’ fourth goal.

Argentina international Mac Allister then curled in an exceptional 25-yard free-kick in injury time for his second and Brighton’s fifth goal of the tie.
The result prolongs Brighton’s brilliant season so far and pushed them up to fourth on the Premier League table, while Leicester, with just one point from six matches, are three points adrift at the bottom of the table.
