A palpable tension has paralyzed Black Stars of Ghana players after coach Otto Addo announced that his final world cup list would rely solely on current form for player selection.
Otto Addo and his technical team, which includes premier league manager Chris Hughton , submitted a provisional list of 35 players In mid -October and are expected to release the final list before or on November 14 to meet the FIFA deadline.
Sports Joust reliably gathered that several Ghanaian players are nervously waiting to see if they will miss out on the world cup list.
According to Addo, the coaching crew is doing everything possible to select players to produce the desired results in Qatar. Since the team won’t have enough time to prepare, choosing players in good shape is necessary.
“The team would consist of the players featured during the international friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua and a few new names that were invited recently,” Addo told the Joy FM crew.
Participants will be allowed to name a squad of 26 players, including three goalkeepers, with five substitutions for the team each match.
Ghana will start its campaign on November 24 with a crucial match against group H favorites Portugal. The Black Stars will play South Korea on November 28 and Uruguay in the final group game on December 2.
The team will commence preparation for the Mundial in Abu Dhabi in the second week of November.
