The big event: Anthony Joshua to clash with Oleksandr Usyk tonight

Must read

George Glinkski of EXPRESS SPORT gives you everything you need to know about Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr Usyk II, including the time the main event is underway.

Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk are set to square off for a second time on August 20 at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In their last outing, Usyk comfortably outpointed ‘AJ’ at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London to claim the WBA (super), IBF, and WBO titles.

Now, Joshua will get a chance to rewrite the wrong with the added incentive of the lineal heavyweight title. Tyson Fury vacated the Ring Magazine strap following his re-retirement last week and it has now been added to the prize pool for this weekend’s blockbuster showdown.

The final missing piece – the WBC heavyweight title – is still in ‘The Gypsy King’s hands although Fury has been given until August 26 to decide whether he wishes to vacate.

What time will the fight start?

The main event is expected to start at 10.30 pm UK time. The main card will begin at 5 pm UK time while the rest of the undercard will take place much earlier in the afternoon.

The card will be shown on Sky Sports Box Office (Sky channel 491), Sky Sports Box Office HD (Sky channel 492) and in UHD (Dolby Atmos available) in the UK at a fee of £26.95. Both Sky and non-Sky customers can watch the fight.

In America, the fights will be shown on the streaming service DAZN.
