Paul Onuachu and Joe Aribo now know their fate for the English championship league next season has been sealed as Southampton becomes the first Premier League Club to be relegated this season.

The Saints confirmed their relegation fate with a 0-2 home capitulation to vising Fulham at Saint Mary’s Stadium on Saturday, to book their ticket to Championship football next season.

Just at the same time, Taiwo Awoniyi’s gallantry-a brace of strikes on both halves-in Nottingham Forest 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, was only enough to get his side a temporary relegation reprieve.

The Nigeria striker and compatriot, Emmanuel Dennis, in tandem with their struggling Forest club, will live to fight another day as their onerous survival joust in English elite football drags mercilessly on till the end of the season.

Same goes for Alex Iwobi who fights on with his Everton teammates tomorrow in their crucial date with defending champions and current leaders, Manchester City at the Goodison Park.

kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi are also involved in the relegation war to avoid relegation from the Premier League at the end of the season.

Iheanacho and Ndidi’s struggling Leicester side are pitted in another crucial premier league tie against Champions League qualification chasing Liverpool on Monday at the King Power Stadium.

The overall permutation in the Premier League backwater fight is that forty points is enough to save any club from relegation at this stage.

With that in mind, West Ham on 37 points need just a win from their three remaining league games to avoid being relegated at the end of the season.

West Ham’s next involvements are against Brentford (away) on Sunday, May 14,  Leeds (home) on May 21, and Leicester (away) on final day (May 28).

With Southampton now relegated, two other sides among Leicester, Everton, Forest and West Ham must follow ‘The Saints’ on the same fate.
