The Interim League Management Committee (ILMC) on Monday directed the management of shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan to improve the playing turf of the stadium, which also hosts Kware united home games.

The ILMC  mandate has forced the management of Kwara United FC of Ilorin to consider moving their home matches from the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba, Ibadan, to Akure township stadium or the Dipo Dina international stadium in Ijebu Ode.

Kware united media officer Bashir Jimoh who dropped this hint in an interview with Sports Joust, said, “We are ready to work with 3SC to improve the state of the turf. We’ll try wetting the grass and see if there will be any improvement.

“While trying to put the turf in good shape, we should also be looking at alternative venues in case the management of both clubs fail to meet the ILMC deadline.

The interim League Management Committee has mandated 3SC to complete work on the turf before the end of the first half of the season.

Bashir also stressed further that the Ilorin township stadium, home of Kwara United, is currently under renovation, with the projected completion date set for May.

“We are not returning to Ilorin until the stadium is ready to host our home matches,” Bashir insisted.

The interim League Management Committee wants all the clubs to comply with its rules and regulations to enable the Nigeria league to attract good sponsors.

Kwara United is currently 8th on the abridged group A table with 5 points from 6 matches, while Shooting Stars is 6th with 7 points from the same number of games.
