According to The Sun, Arsenal have temporarily suspended contract talks with manager Mikel Arteta as the Gunners fend off any distractions in their chase for the league shield.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain are reported to be closely monitoring the Spaniard’s situation as uncertainty becloud the future of  Parisiennes boss Christophe Galtier, at the same time that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is a huge fan of Arteta’s enterprise at Arsenal.

Arteta played professionally for PSG and for Barcelona at youth level, and began his coaching career at Manchester City. The triad are now reported to harbor long term interest in the 41-year-old. His contract with Arsenal was signed very close to the conclusion of the previous season, and will come to an end in June 2025.

His Arsenal contract is estimated to fetch the coach a whopping £8.3million each year. Arteta’s work at the London club comes with immense praise, with his team now four points ahead of defending champions Manchester City atop of the Premier League table.

In his first season in charge, Arteta guided the Gunners to FA Cup cup win, despite shaky periods trailing the way, in addition to failing to qualify for the Champions League.

Notable plus for Arteta is the blend of Arsenal’s play with remarkable flair and transition, an accomplishment that will certainly align him with the interests of his many new suitors, though Arsenal are still very keen to retain him at the Emirates.

However, Arsenal’s main attention for now centers on the chase for the Premier League shield as they continue to nurse the hope of becoming champions again after 19 years of waiting.
