Osei Kuffour, Black Stars of Ghana assistant coach, has assured fans that the team will not be distracted by the fame and achievements of Portugal’s Christiano Ronaldo when both sides meet in the 2022 world cup Group H opener tomorrow.
Kuffour told Joy FM that the Black Stars are not going on the field to play against Ronaldo alone but the entire Portuguese squad adding that those who think Ghana would be intimidated by the soccer star don’t understand the game.
” The Ronaldo factor will not affect the team. There are other quality players in on their side. Joao Felix, Bruno Fernandez, Diego Dallot, and Ruben Diaz are as deadly as Ronaldo. We would be beaten thoroughly if we focus on one player and leave the rest unmarked.” he said.
The former Bayern Munich FC of Germany defender explained that part of their game plans is perfect teamwork combined with vision and total concentration throughout the encounter.
Soccer fans and pundits in Ghana think Christiano Ronaldo has the charisma to wreak havoc on the Black Stars.
Portugal defeated Ghana 2-1 when both sides met in Brazil at the 2014 world cup.
Ghana, Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay are in Group H.
